Routine reminders dominate use

In a 90-day sample of 33 active Sentai users, 64% of interactions with the conversational AI companion concerned routine reminders. The dataset recorded 1,877 medication prompts and 1,590 daily reminders, illustrating how the service is being used around recurring activities at home.

Family involvement remains central

Nearly three quarters of users, or 73%, had at least one family member providing day-to-day support through the Sentai family app. Sentai presents this as technology working alongside human involvement rather than replacing it, particularly between formal care, appointments and family visits.

Pressure on carers shapes the case for support

Alzheimer’s Society research cited by the company found 43% of carers had reached breaking point and 56% said caring had harmed their mental health. Sentai’s Peter Otto argues that reminders can reduce repetitive pressure while preserving independence, but says technology should not replace human contact or clinical care. Separate Sentai research found 46% believe carers and care recipients receive insufficient support or advice.
