What has changed
Motability’s July update highlights six products, including the Monarch Ezi-Fold Carbon, Pride Jazzy Assist and Quantum Edge 4. These span different needs, from carrying a folded chair to more configurable powered seating.
The dates matter
The published price period runs from 1 July to 30 September 2026. Check the current Scheme listing and your eligibility directly before making a decision; these are time-limited Scheme terms, not a general retail price list.
Make the demonstration count
Compare seat fit, control access and your actual loading routine. Ask which battery, seating and powered options the quotation includes. A model appearing in Scheme news does not mean that every configuration or differently branded version is available.
Compare jobs before comparing models
Begin with a short list of tasks: moving around home, reaching local shops, taking a chair in a car and spending time outdoors. Then identify which tasks happen every day and which are occasional. This helps keep a tempting feature from overshadowing a practical requirement.
A folding frame may make storage easier while a different seating setup may better suit long periods of use. Those are different priorities. Ask the dealer to explain the trade-off using the actual configuration in the quotation, rather than treating every powered wheelchair as interchangeable.
Build a useful demonstration checklist
Bring the person who will load the chair, if someone else usually helps. Try the controls from your normal sitting position and check whether you can approach a table comfortably. Discuss where the chair will be stored and charged at home.
Before agreeing to a model, ask for a written breakdown of what is included, what is optional and how servicing is arranged. Save the dated quotation so that a later change in price or configuration can be discussed clearly. Our advice is to compare the complete arrangement as carefully as the chair itself.
