The essentials: dates, venue, admission
Abilities Expo Orlando 2026 runs October 9 to 11 at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Admission to the expo is free, and the event is aimed at wheelchair users, families, caregivers, occupational and physical therapists, and healthcare professionals. If you are considering a new power wheelchair or mobility aid, this is one of the few places you can compare models from multiple manufacturers side by side and talk directly to the people who design and service them.
Exhibitors to watch: Robooter and Smirthwaite
Smart mobility company Robooter will exhibit at Booth 200, showing its E60 Pro GT all-terrain power wheelchair and the C40 3-in-1 smart mobility chair. The E60 Pro GT is the company's next-generation outdoor platform, built on the E60 series with a dual-motor drive, omnidirectional wheels, suspension and integrated controls, aimed at users who want to travel beyond smooth indoor surfaces onto grass, gravel and uneven paths. The Orlando appearance follows Robooter's showing at Abilities Expo New York Metro earlier in 2026, where visitors tried the E60 series and the lightweight E80. Also confirmed is Smirthwaite USA at Booth 500, where head of US sales Chris Doran and sales representative Kevin Kimball will demonstrate pediatric seating, standing, and changing and showering solutions, with hands-on trials and one-to-one consultations for schools, clinics and home users. Smirthwaite is also running a show-only giveaway of a Heathfield Chair for expo attendees.
How to make the most of the expo
Come with a shortlist and a tape measure. Test-drive every chair on your list over the same kind of surfaces you use daily, and ask the reps three questions brochures never answer properly: what the servicing network looks like in your area, how long replacement parts typically take, and what the warranty actually excludes. Bring your current chair's key measurements — seat width, overall width, turning needs — so you can compare on the spot. If you rely on a caregiver, bring them too: they will be the ones folding ramps, lifting frames and dealing with transport, and their opinion matters. Finally, check the workshop schedule when you arrive; the product demos and Q&A sessions are often more useful than the booths for learning how equipment behaves in real life.
