Investor-focused regulatory planning

The free event will take place on Wednesday 4 November 2026, from 10am to 4pm, at the COSLA Conference Centre in Verity House, Edinburgh. Organised by Tay Health Tech with InnoScot Health, it is intended for academics, pre-startups, early-stage companies, spinouts and SMEs preparing to seek external investment. Places are limited, and advance registration is required.

Frameworks, milestones and practical tools

Participants will examine UK and EU medical-device regulatory frameworks, build roadmaps linking regulatory milestones to funding rounds, and consider how investors evaluate regulatory readiness and risk. The programme will also cover practical tools, checklists, support networks and resources, alongside case studies and networking. The stated aim is to help founders present regulatory strategies in commercial and investment terms.

Speakers and sector context

Confirmed contributors include Elaine Gemmell of InnoScot Health, Vicki Hazley of the Scottish National Investment Bank, Anne Muir of Eos Advisory LLP and Edward Staunton of Clinigen. Sessions will address the regulatory landscape, business-plan implications and practical regulatory strategy. Further speakers are expected. Tay Health Tech is led by the University of Dundee and Heriot-Watt University, with support from academic, NHS, public-sector and innovation organisations.
