Programme opens for Cohort 11

Applications for the 11th NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme cohort opened on 19 October 2026. The initiative offers fully funded training, mentoring and networking for NHS Scotland staff developing, testing or scaling healthcare ideas. Participants can connect with healthcare leaders, investors, collaborators and fellow entrepreneurs while building entrepreneurial skills. The application window is scheduled to close in November, after the Scottish support event.

Glasgow event will cover commercial skills

The programme will hold a Scottish pit stop at Glasgow’s Clayton Hotel on 12 and 13 November 2026. The two-day event will be CPD-accredited and provide free educational sessions on business start-ups, leadership, team development, legal issues, intellectual property, finance and commercialisation. Founder Stories will add perspectives from healthcare professionals who have established start-ups. Further programme and registration details are expected.

Preparation and partner support

Online preparation has included guidance on producing a one-minute video pitch and a question-and-answer session with the CEP team. The sessions are intended to help applicants explain their innovations and understand submission requirements. InnoScot Health, DHI, NES, Techscaler, Scottish Enterprise and CSO are supporting Scottish participation. InnoScot Health says the programme can help professionals develop solutions for patient care and NHS services.
