Accessible learning
The platform, supported by WFA principal sponsor AJM Healthcare through AJM Choice, is intended to widen access to education and participation in powerchair football. It targets players, coaches, match officials, volunteers and people considering involvement in the sport across the UK and internationally. The association describes the initiative as a central hub for learning and development opportunities.
Initial courses
Available at launch are an Assistant Referee course and an Introduction to Coaching Powerchair Football course. The assistant-referee programme is described as a world-first for wheelchair football and introduces officiating knowledge before progression to the WFA Match Officials course. More than 100 people have completed it, with video and written material attracting participants from across Europe.
Planned expansion
The courses carry fees, although WFA partners can use an association-provided code for free access. During the 2026/27 season, WFA plans to add resources on the Football Association’s six Key Capabilities in Powerchair Football, software and data-input training for live streaming, coach-development webinars and grassroots materials. AJM Healthcare operates specialist wheelchair and mobility services and provides integrated wheelchair services for the NHS.
