Partnership focuses on practical mobility
Mobility in Motion has announced a collaboration with the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) to support greater independence for people living with spinal cord injury (SCI). The partnership will raise awareness of practical mobility solutions while giving the vehicle-adaptation specialist insight into the community’s travel experiences and barriers. Research highlights travel barriers
SIA estimates that more than 105,000 people in the UK live with SCI. Its Travel with Confidence research, based on 1,508 responses, found that 75.37 per cent had experienced travel challenges. Almost half said their mobility equipment did not enable them to take part in every activity they wanted, while separate research identified concerns around personal transport, wheelchairs, public transport and accessible parking.
Products to join SIA Lifestyle
Mobility in Motion will become part of SIA Lifestyle, the charity’s online shop for products and services selected to support independence and everyday living. Its products will be available to SIA members with an exclusive member offer, and each purchase will generate a donation to SIA. The company says the relationship forms part of broader charity engagement.
