Record completion

Fifteen disabled Londoners completed CAE’s Pathways Academy in 2026, which the organisation describes as the programme’s most successful year. The cohort achieved a 100 per cent completion rate after nine months of specialist training. Funded by City Bridge Foundation, Pathways supports disabled Londoners pursuing careers in inclusive design and access.

Training and outcomes

Established in 2020, the programme combines specialist teaching, practical experience and professional networking. CAE says participants develop technical knowledge, confidence and insight grounded in lived experience of inaccessible environments. Student feedback highlighted the value of structured learning over nine months, with Marina reporting greater confidence discussing accessibility and Sophia describing the programme as empowering.

Progression and scale

Architecture graduate Sarah Bond used the programme to develop skills in written guidance and access audits, and has since secured a role with Arup as an assistant consultant in its Access and Inclusive Environments team. CAE Head of Business Development Fara Muneer said the results demonstrate the value of specialist training, networks and practical experience. The academy has supported 72 disabled people since launch.
