New executive assistant

The Wheelchair Alliance, a community interest company focused on improving wheelchair users’ lives across the UK, has appointed Lucy Bailey as executive assistant to chief executive Nick Goldup. The organisation said the appointment strengthens its growing research, policy and advocacy work.

Experience and responsibilities

Bailey is a wheelchair user and brings almost five years of lived experience, alongside more than five years in administration, virtual assistance and online business management. Based in Hillingdon, London, she will work one day each week supporting Goldup and the directors, helping improve administrative systems and freeing senior colleagues to focus on strategy, planning and specialist work.

Personal connection and wider capacity

Bailey is also a trained mental health first aider. She said the position combines her professional experience with a cause she cares about and will allow her to contribute to projects, research and policy work. Goldup said her lived experience supports the Alliance’s commitment to wheelchair users. The organisation also recently received donated laptops to strengthen digital capacity.
