QS7 R rigid wheelchair

The Quickie QS7 R is a new rigid model within Sunrise Medical’s QS range, building on the Quickie Nitrum. Its FrontFold technology folds the front frame beneath the seat, making the chair more compact for storage and transport, including in smaller car boots. The mechanism adds 400g, while the chair retains a low lifting weight. Seat depth can grow by up to 5cm, allowing the configuration to accommodate changing seating needs over time.

QS7 X folding wheelchair

The Quickie QS7 X is a folding wheelchair with an open-frame design intended to reduce bulk compared with traditional box-frame folding chairs. Sunrise Medical says it combines folding convenience with the responsive ride characteristics and efficient propulsion associated with a rigid frame. FrontFold technology enables a particularly compact folded form, while the manufacturer presents the model as a portable option for active users seeking ride quality alongside easier handling, lifting and transport.

Company positioning

Sunrise Medical says both models were developed around everyday requirements including flexibility, low lifting weight, self-propulsion and simpler storage. Product Specialist Ryan Windmill attributes their design to a focus on transport and independence, while describing FrontFold and seat-depth growth as practical features for changing needs. The company has also recently launched a Community Fund supporting accessibility and inclusion projects for people with reduced mobility.
