Ben: moving between classrooms with friends

Ben’s family describes how a powered wheelchair changed his school journeys and gave him more room to join family outings.

Published by the charity that helped fund the equipment, using the family’s account. This is an individual experience, not an independent product test.

A chair with its own name

Ben named his powered wheelchair Zippy 3000. His family says he was still learning to drive it, but was improving and enjoying moving from classroom to classroom alongside friends instead of being pushed by an adult.

Joining in beyond school

The family also describes taking the chair to the park, where Ben could move around while his cousins and the dogs played. The story makes independence tangible through ordinary social moments. It records learning in progress rather than suggesting that receiving equipment immediately removes every obstacle.
