Getting around took effort
Before receiving her chair, Kiyo-Rei moved around the house by shuffling on the floor. Her mother describes tiredness, discomfort and frustration. A physiotherapist suggested contacting Whizz Kidz after the family had struggled to obtain a wheelchair through local services.
A different way to join the party
Her mother recalls previously holding Kiyo-Rei while dancing, then swapping with her father when tired. With the powered chair, Kiyo-Rei could dance while seated. The family’s emphasis is on participation and choice; the report does not establish that the same equipment would suit another child.
