Cory: giant trees and the slopes along the way

Cory Lee’s Sequoia and Kings Canyon trip combines memorable forest visits with practical observations about gradients and travel between stops.

A summary of the author’s own trip. Access details describe that visit and should be checked again before booking. Cory discloses complimentary experiences arranged with Visit California.

Reaching the trees

Cory describes visiting General Sherman and rolling along Big Trees Trail. He found paved surfaces and boardwalk sections useful, and enjoyed experiencing the groves from his wheelchair.

Accessible paths were not always level

The account notes steeper sections near General Sherman and on the route to Roaring River Falls. It also describes long winding drives between sights. These qualifications belong alongside the positive experience; a paved route alone does not establish that its slope suits a particular chair or traveller.
