A last-minute overnight visit
Andrea Cary took her WHILL C2 to the Stonehenge solstice after a change of plans. In TGA’s report, she loaded the chair using a car hoist, then used an accessible park-and-ride shuttle from Salisbury. She arrived during the evening and stayed for the sunrise on 21 June.

The event changes the access problem
This was an overnight gathering, not an ordinary daytime visit. Waiting, darkness, crowds and the shuttle home are all part of the access question. A regular visitor-centre description cannot establish the arrangements for a special event.
For a future solstice visit, look for that year’s event instructions rather than reusing the timetable from this account. A useful plan starts with the last available way home and works backwards to arrival.
The landscape still matters
TGA’s report distinguishes paved facilities from grass, gravel and uneven ground around the wider site. Treat the precise route as the deciding information. A memorable photograph among the stones does not establish a universally suitable approach for every chair.
