Changes beneath the familiar names

Permobil’s 16 March announcement describes redesigned caster components, slimmer fork caps and a revised centre-of-gravity system for the TiLite TR and ZR. The company identifies weight reduction and adjustment as priorities, while continuing its made-to-measure TiFit approach.

Personal fit remains part of the order

The release says the new models are available through authorised providers in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. It also introduces four additional decorative titanium-tattoo options. It does not publish a universal complete-chair weight for every custom build.

Keep an adjustment record

A custom manual wheelchair is a combination of frame dimensions, seating and components. When assessing an updated model, retain the configuration used for the trial rather than comparing only the product name.

Changes to centre of gravity affect the way a chair handles and should be addressed with the appropriate professional. A useful handover explains the supplied setup, the adjustment process and who to contact if daily tasks reveal a problem. The announcement of greater adjustability does not mean every setting is suitable for every user.
