Program selection

WHILL announced on October 27, 2026, that it had joined the second cohort of the SusHi Tech Global Growth Acceleration Program, an initiative of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government supporting promising startups’ international expansion. The company said its selection reflected its strategy for expanding WHILL Autonomous Service.

Scaling the service model

The company plans to standardize the operating model developed at Singapore Changi Airport, where WHILL Autonomous Service entered full operation in September 2026. WHILL said this approach is intended to accelerate deployment at airports and other large facilities worldwide, as demand for walking assistance rises alongside air travel.

Current footprint and event activity

WHILL said the service operates at about 30 locations worldwide, primarily airports, and has exceeded 1 million rides. The company also reported that approximately 80% of revenue comes from outside Japan. As part of the program, WHILL was scheduled to demonstrate the service at Singapore’s SWITCH event on October 27–29, dates that had passed by the supplied as-of date.
