Begin with what is already working
The M90 adds powered wheels to a compatible manual wheelchair. A separate folding powerchair introduces another seat, frame and control arrangement. If an existing manual chair fits well, preserving that setup can be a reason to explore power assist. Compatibility still needs to be established for the actual chair.
The control experience may change with the mode
Sunrise describes an All-Way Toggle mode and a Speed Controller mode using handrim steering. The complete M90 set is listed at 12.2 kg. This is an add-on weight, not the weight of a complete wheelchair.
When comparing transport, start with the manual chair plus all fitted components. Compare that actual loading sequence with the folding powerchair, including any batteries or other parts removed from either setup.
Make the choice around the whole day
Consider whether manual propulsion remains part of the routine, whether a second chair needs storage and whether transferring between chairs is practical. A compact powered device can still create extra work if it requires a second seating arrangement that does not suit the user.
A useful trial includes a period using the intended control mode, a transfer and the transport sequence. Evaluate each option with the same daily activities; a motor specification alone cannot settle which arrangement is more convenient.
