Start with the complete configuration
The current US product page lists the Q50 R Carbon from 32 lb without batteries, with each battery adding 3 lb. It quotes up to 7.5 miles with one battery and 15 miles with two. Those range figures describe different configurations, not two estimates for the same setup.
Two configurations, two planning questions
| Configuration | Planning question |
|---|---|
| One battery | Does the shorter published range leave enough margin for the usual trip? |
| Two batteries | Can both batteries be managed, carried and charged as part of the routine? |
Packing is a sequence, not a photograph
The published folded size is 30.2 × 22.4 × 14.6 inches. The folding instructions on the product page describe operating the rear clip, folding the footplate and lowering the backrest; the battery can remain fitted.
Test whether you can reach the mechanism and control the movement while following the manual. In a vehicle, include the cushion and other everyday belongings. A folded dimension does not account for the space needed to turn the package through a boot opening.
Who should put it on the trial list
This design merits a look when a relatively narrow folded package and removable battery arrangement suit the journey. It deserves extra scrutiny when the advertised extended range is essential every day: both battery handling and the real route need to work.
The most informative comparison is one-battery versus two-battery ownership on your own routine. Note what is carried, what is charged and what stays in the vehicle. Avoid treating the lowest stated chair weight as the ready-to-drive total.
