Comfort changes when the scooter is moving
A seat can feel comfortable while parked and different after repeated turns or uneven ground. A meaningful trial includes the surfaces and duration relevant to your routine, within a safe demonstration setting. Four wheels alone do not establish a comfortable ride.
Look at reach as well as seat padding
Check whether you can reach the controls in a supported position. Notice what changes when turning, using the controls repeatedly or looking behind. If the tiller is adjusted, repeat the manoeuvre rather than judging the new position only while stationary.
Foot placement also deserves attention. Use the footwear and any usual support you expect to travel with. A position that leaves the feet awkwardly placed or makes the transfer difficult needs to be addressed during assessment, not postponed until after purchase.

Separate what can be adjusted from what cannot
Ask the demonstrator which settings can be changed on that model and which characteristics are fixed. A seat adjustment might improve reach, while a frame dimension remains unchanged. Record the final settings on the model you tested so another demonstration is comparable.
Finish by getting off and back on using your usual method. The overall decision includes driving, resting and transferring. If discomfort appears, describe where and during which task; that is more useful to the assessor than a general statement that the scooter feels wrong.
