Carbon construction with a defined weight basis
WHILL’s Japanese announcement on 3 September introduces the Model C Lite at 18.6 kg without its battery and 21.6 kg with the standard battery. Those are different handling figures: the battery-free weight is relevant only when the battery is removed for transport. The company compares the frame figure with the 24 kg Model F.
Folding and driving are both part of the design
The launch describes one-hand folding, new carrying handles and omni-wheels. Its Japanese specification lists a 50 mm obstacle capability, an 811 mm minimum turning radius and a 136 kg user capacity. Folded dimensions are 500 × 587 × 755 mm. These are manufacturer specifications for the announced configuration, not independent test results.
Keep regional specifications together
This announcement concerns Japan. A product name shared across markets does not justify combining a weight from one market with a battery or price from another. For a practical comparison, keep the configuration, included battery and local specification on the same record.
When considering loading, compare both the folded shape and the lift you will actually perform. A carrying handle changes the grip available, but it does not establish that a particular user can safely lift the chair.
